Track “Millcreek,” the Snowy Owl, with Project SNOWStorm

Millcreek is back!

This immature male snowy owl, which Mike Lanzone and bander Tom McDonald had tagged Jan. 20, 2013 in Erie, Pa., recently transmitted hundreds of locations back to researchers. They’d last heard from Millcreek on April 23, when he was loafing on the fast-disappearing ice of Lake Erie, off the Buffalo waterfront.

Then his transmitter went dark for some time. No wonder! You won’t believe where he’s been since then.

Read more over at the Project SNOWStorm website.

Remember, this important and groundbreaking tracking study could not be done without the generosity of many people. Donations are badly needed to maintain this tracking study from year to year.
