Thanks to everyone who participated in the shorebird identification workshop led by Dominic Sherony on August 13. From evaluations of the course, things went very well. The feedback we received was generally positive; when asked what was the best part of this course several people said “Dominic!” and “the camaraderie!” so thanks to Dom, the volunteers, and of course, the happy group of birders who came out to make it a success. We’re convinced this is a great way to spread joy and serve the Rochester birding community and hope to do more like these in the future. Suggestions for future topics so far include Hawks, Gulls & Terns, and Grassland Birds. Also, many people would like a repeat performance of last year’s Warbler ID workshop. What do you think?
